Therapeutic Style
Amanda’s work is driven from a belief that we are all in need of connection. When we do not have a true or healthy connection with others, this can lead to anxiety, depression or addiction and many other concerns. Even if we are living busy lives, that does not mean that we feel connected; we may in fact experience feelings of lonliness. Not only can therapy be a space where true connection occurs, it can also allow you to recognize this need and form those connections with others. You may start to feel heard, understood and begin develop insight to start living a life of healing and fulfillment. Amanda is also very interested in helping her clients discover how their past experiences shape the world they live in today. By exploring recurring patterns, behaviours and memories, coping skills will be developed to regain control and better manage your thoughts and emotions.
Amanda’s comforting approach has allowed clients to open up and trust the process that they engage in with her. Amanda’s therapy style includes being empathetic, warm, and non-judgmental.
I first got involved in Chiropractic when I was in University studying Kinesiology. I had a recurrent back injury from playing hockey over the years. After years and years of seeing other healthcare practitioners, I was amazed how quickly Chiropractic helped me to heal.
I continued to investigate further into Chiropractic and how it worked, and soon it became an easy decision to make it my career.
After my 4 year Honours Bachelor of Human Kinetics, I completed 4 additional years of Chiropractic training at Logan College of Chiropractic in St. Louis, Missouri.
Through my years of experience, I have seen and experienced the true benefits of massage therapy. I knew from a young age that I wanted to become a massage therapist and graduated from the Massage Therapy program at Georgian College in 2007. I have been in good standing with the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario (CMTO) since then. I have always been amazed at the ability to aid in the healing process through the manipulation of soft tissue. I am committed to understanding the specific needs of every individual and seek out a variety of techniques in treatment.
In my spare time I am with my family, enjoying our life in the country. I enjoy being creative with art projects, gardening and do a lot of camping.
